Thanks for the question. Most programme managers do come from a financial services background, but there are some that don't. The key thing for me is that we need strong programme managers and my personal view is that programme and project skills/experience is transferrable. That said, there's a lot of finance specific terms used which mean that for anyone without finance experience, the learning curve is steep.
